Health

We cook for your health

Our offer is tailored to the special needs of our customers. Any special dietary requirements can be discussed with the kitchen team by telephone.

In addition to the normal and varied full meals, we also offer dietary meals, for example, which are expertly prepared and cooked by our trained staff.

Vegetarian dishes are also an integral part of our menu.

Our menus naturally list additives and allergens as well as the kilocalories for each meal.

All dishes are prepared from high quality and fresh ingredients according to the latest knowledge. The particularly gentle processing of food, in conjunction with optimal cooking times, ensures our customers a vitamin- and nutrient-rich meal.

Quality & Origin

Regional and healthy

We rely - wherever possible - on food from the region. This is healthy and sustainable. We buy part of the food and ingredients in the area around Drolshagen. The use of organic food is constantly checked by us and the use is forced.

Our food comes from, among others:

    • Bakery Vosshagen, Drolshagen (bakery products)
    • Metzgerei Nebeling Drolshagen (meat products)
    • Früchte Schürmann Drolshagen (fruit and vegetables)

    Hygiene

    Tested hygiene

Hygiene plays a central role in the production of food. That is a matter of course for us. But we also deliberately go well beyond that. That is why we have had ourselves EU-certified. We are audited annually by the Olpe Health Department. This is an important orientation for our customers. They can rely on impeccable hygiene.

We have developed a comprehensive concept to ensure our high hygiene standards. This includes a framework hygiene plan, binding cleaning and disinfection plans, and the HACCP concept, an internationally binding quality management system for foodstuffs.

In addition, we are supported and monitored by the Central Hygiene Department of the GFO Association.

    Certification

    Controlled quality

The quality of our meals is also reflected in the Olpe district's "Fit for 100" certification, in which independent and external inspectors take a close look at the meal planning, production and serving of all meals produced.

The strict criteria on which this is based are reviewed every two years. The primary focus is on:

    • the range of wholesome products on offer
    • the recipes
    • the composition of the menus
    • the nutritional concept
    • a meat offer in accordance with the current guidelines
    • a daily vegetarian offer
    • sustainability of the food to be processed
    • regular raw food offers
    • fish from certified fisheries
    • use of cooking methods that are gentle on the product, with the aim of preserving vitamins and minerals
    • tested production processes with short standing time of the dishes

    Sustainability

For the sake of the environment

GFO and its facilities, which include "Meals on Wheels," are founded on Christian Franciscan roots. The integrity of creation is important to us. That is why we focus on sustainability.

For the sake of the environment, we use a reusable distribution system for our meals. In concrete terms, this means that we deliver the food on porcelain plates in a heat-insulating Styrofoam box. The box and plates are replaced with the next delivery.

In addition, our service staff are increasingly using hybrid or electric vehicles to reach our customers.
